( Ze forgotten silly purikura adventures of Ffej & Maki )
» Time goes by so quickly. It's been 2 years already since I started this journal. I'm unsure when I'll be able to start updating again (from Japan) and it frustrates me. I wish I could say "I'm moving in january" but I can't make anything official yet. :/ I am so impatient! Moving to an other country turns out to be way more complicated than I first thought. And to make things more difficult, i chose one of the most expensive country on the planet! I'm currently trying to get info about TESOL so that I'd have a better background for teaching when I move. Anyone out there knows if TESOL courses are available in Quebec? (preferably Quebec city but Montreal's good too) How much does it cost? How long does it take? Please let me know! I tried looking it up online but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
» Anyways, to make this post a bit more fun, I finally got around taking pictures of the forgotten silly purikura adventures. Looking at those make me smile. :) One day, this journal will be filled with crazy purikura, I promise! Until then, enjoy the oldies!

Dear Shinjuku, I really miss you ALOT. I remember all the fun I had in 歌舞伎町 (Kabuki-chō). ♥
For all the lolita/v-kei lovers... this is OIOI (Marui young shopping center)'s street. There's also Citibank there.
Very useful to know because it's probably the only place where you can withdraw money. Funny thing: I knew which street that was before even seeing the name. And I could tell seconds ahead that there would be a Citibank and OIOI following. I have such a visual memory! It's insane how I can remember so cleary 1½ year later!
♥ ♥ ♥
miss you so much.... ;__;

music: Japanese trains <3 - platform music
It's crazy but everytime I hear those voices (pre-recorded announcements) I get chills and my heart starts beating faster. It could easily make me teary-eyed. It's one of the things that make me the most nostalgic about Tokyo. I guess that's because I spent so much time riding the subway/trains. And I always thought the lady's voice was incredibly beautiful. ♥ I loved riding trains. Unlike the subways here... the trains in Japan made me so calm and relaxed. Like a ride to heaven.

♥ Hey there friends, Japan residents, Harajuku fans, lolitas and anonymous readers! お久しぶりですね!Long time no see! (or long time no POST! should I say! ^_-)
» I'm updating because today, I came across this website and I was so happy to realize the photos were taken the same day that I was in Harajuku in June 2006. And the girls I met that day had their picture taken by that photographer too! I remember how the sweet lolita (girl in pink with lots of hairclips) didn't want to pose for me that day because she was in a hurry to fill her model release form for "some photoshoot". Well now I understand! And I'm happy I found pictures of her (face included!) (●^▽^●)良かったね!
♥ Of course that's not my only reason for updating! I have GOOD NEWS! I'm MOVING to Japan (90% chances of moving to Tokyo)! I don't have a date settled but it will be sometimes before 2009! In a perfect world I would move this summer BUT it will most likely be sometimes near (or in january) 2009. I have too many debts that I want to pay before leaving (damn you University for ruinning me!). In may I'll be moving back to my hometown (Quebec city) to live with my dad for a while (no rent to pay! yeah!) and earn as much money as possible. I will also keep studying japanese to make sure I have a solid base when I move. I've been slacking off for the past 6months and I'm starting to forget more than I'm learning... oops! I absolutly have to make myself a new studying schedule! It's very important for me to learn the language before moving since I'd rather not get a french/english teaching job over there (yeah, I know...it's hard to get other jobs than that...but hey, a girl can dream!) Sure I did study japanese in University for a year and a half (East-Asian studies at University of Montreal) but it's not enough!!! I unfortunatly had to stop my full-time studies at university this past semester due to health problems. But don't you worry about me... I'm fine now! As soon as I start studying seriously again it'll all come back very quickly. I've always had the knack for learning languages. (^__-) Oh and about jobs... some of you may have heard me talking about my connections with people in the entertainment buisiness in Japan... Yes, I still work for some of them but it's nothing officially permanent yet. It's mostly a part-time thing so sadly, I can't count on that to survive when I move over there. But I won't give up! I know someday I will reach my goals.
» So that's pretty much it! I just thought I'd let you know that this journal is NOT dead. I will start writting here again when I move to Japan. Thanks for your patience! <(_ _)>

Tokyo Eye Maid cafe phenomenon part II
» A recent picture post of mine containned pictures of Akihabara (also know as "Otaku-town") an area of Tokyo where you can find lots of electronics, video games, manga/anime, sex shops, and meido cafes. Usually it's forbidden to take pictures inside meido cafes to protect the maid's privacy but TV based in Japan are usually able to get some interviews.. Thanks youtube for giving us the chance to watch these! By the way Mailish cafe is the meido cafe i went to. Arisa wasn't there.. we were served by Ramune and an other girl but i bought some Arisa memorabilia coz she's the cutest of all (and she's Ffejsangquicoule's favorite)(o^__^o) Hope you guys enjoy!

for those who don't know what donki is check my previous posts i have pics and videos taken there. here's the description found on their website: buisiness purpose: selling home electrical appliances, miscellaneous household goods, food, watches and fashion-related merchandise, sporting goods and leisure products, and other items by the concept of "great convenience and discount stores".
so it's kinda like a 6 floor wal-mart.. but you know wal-marts do not carry sextoys and cosplay.. so..

» Alcatraz is a chain of theme restaurants and maido cafes and they own this place called The Hospital of Horror in Shibuya. We went for Nicolas's b'day it was fun. We were served by nurses and doctors. The restaurant was decorated with bloody body parts and the place were we ate was a cell (ours was called the morgue :P) There was some kind of show while we ate.. it was supposed to be scary but really it was just funny. There was a guy with a scary movie mask running around and taking people out of their jail cells and doing crazy things to them (making 'em sit in a wheelchair to have a tour of the restaurant and then they had to lay on the floor while everyone watched them get a shot from the nurse with the giant seringe.. funny thing is that they pulled down some guy's pants *kept his boxers* and they pretended to give him a shot on his bum bwhaha). The food was delicious. I recommend this place for those who have medical fetish ahhaha. It's close to Shibuya-O-East :)

» Note that the pics weren't all taken on the same day.. most pics of the stores or people inside stores were taken the first time i went to harajuku with Ffejsangquicoule..also the pictures taken at night are from the first time (my camera batteries died when i was on the bridge where all the cool kids are..crap!). The others are from the day i met Camilla
psychodollfie, Anna
_graveflower & Emelina who moved to Japan while i was there. ^___^ We went karaoke the night before i left too.. pictures will be posted soon.
» Oh and since i'm posting about Harajuku & Shinjuku i need to tell this story: I went shopping alone at the Marui Young (shopping center that has like 8 floors with at least 4 floors of exentrik clothing..lolita, punk, etc.) in Shinjuku before i left Japan.. I went to KERA shop and bought some things.. The manager started chatting with me in japenglish, he was very nice. When it was the time to pay i went to the cash register and i noticed some cool flyers of this band called AILE on the counter..so i decided to take one.. that's when the manager informed me that 2 members were in the store!!! o__O; I turned around and there they were. So i went up to them and asked for autographs and pictures (unfortunatly even if they agreed we were told we couldn't take pics inside the store and i didn't bother waiting for them to get out of the building)..the thing is: they're famous!!! I had no clue until Arianechibi_hoshi told me! I thought they were just some new independant band! I got home and Ari showed me a video from youtube.. I really like their music! Darn! If i had known when i met them i would've dragged them to the elevator for a picture! Gnargh! >__<; Oh well.. at least i got their autographs! ^__^

( a night in shibuya with ffej: ganguros, maids & lotsa naughty things ;P )
» hehee.. as you can see i had lotsa fun with ichigo & ffej in the past few days.. though yesterday i had to go to a clinic in roppongi to see a doctor (thanks to elicia who recommended those english speaking doctors)... don't worry i only catched an annoying little infection due to the humidy. i'll be alright. what sucks though is that it cost me 64$ just to see the doctor and 30$ for pills. -__-; I have a japanese medical ID now though heheh.. at least if i comeback i'll know where to go if i get sick! Then later we went to visit the Ghibli museum (♥ my neighbor totoro ♥ too bad we couldnt take pics inside it was amazing!) and finally ate at mcdonalds (ebi filet & ebi nuggets = yumm). After we decided to go karaoke in takadanobaba it was fun.. we got drunk and sang nine inch nails, oasis, queen, tetsuwan atomu, hanson (yes mmmbop haha and ffej did sing XD) and more! we were jumping on the benches and ordering drinks after drinks and the lil' waitress was soo laughing at us. :P fun fun.. :) we have to go back! today i'm gonna go to akihabara (otakutown) with ffej gotta go get dressed! mata ne!

( a day in shinjuku!!!! )
» Shinjuku is one of the hot spots in Tokyo. That's an awesome place for shopping, arcades and seeing people dressed lolita, decora and all the other trends you can find in Kera or Fruits magazine. I spent almost the whole day alone and i did some ( fun shopping )
Here's some videos:
+ Arcade in Shinjuku (there's one every 10 feets!): http://youtube.com/watch?v=k4-XM49MYwc
+ Singer & Lolitas near the east Shinjuku subway exit: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IPzG6-4tU48
+ Schoolgirls sleeping on the yamanote subway line that goes to shinjuku, harajuku and shibuya (they were standing before and their skirt was rolled up sooo effin' short! o__O; sukebe!) http://youtube.com/watch?v=DIJ0_RKxSYI
More later! I gotta go visit Tokyo alone (and get lost in the subway probably haha) coz Ffej will be mad at me if i spend one more day chillin' at home surfing the net XD It's just that i don't know where to go and what to do when i'm alone... i have a hundred shops to find but the maps are no help and the language barrier kinda sucks. I always fear doing wrong things (like i did in the moi-meme-moitie store) getting lost or not paying the right amount for the subway.. :/ oh well.. courage. Meh.. and it so friggin' humid my body is having very annoying reactions.. +___+ and it's not like i can just go to the drugstore and buy remedy by myself. arg. :/ Darn i shouldn't be complaining! Gomen ne.

( montreal-vancouver-tokyo! )
» Oii! I'm so sorry for not updating earlier! My access to a computer is limited coz usually Ffej goes working or to school with it and other times i'm busy walking the streets of Tokyo and the minute i get home i fall asleep. I don't have much time to update right now i have to meet Ffej at Tamachi station (gotta take the subway from here kami-itabashi to ikebukuro and then switch on yamanote line and get to tamachi.. it's probably 40mins). Taking the airplane was fun! I didn't get to sleep much but it was very comfortable. 15 hours is long though..with all the waiting in airports. Tokyo is amazing it's like NYC's Times Square X 1000000. Every corner it looks like Times Square! You can get lost so easily. And don't come to Japan if you're agoraphobic or claustrophobic hehehe! Darn i'm in a hurry.. i've got so many things to say! It's very hot and humid here but the rain season is tolerable..it's so hot i'm not unhappy when it rains. I've been to Takadanobaba, Shinjuku, Ueno, Ikebukuro and of course Itabashi where i live. ^0^ I've yet to visit Harajuku & Shibuya.. but i've seen tons of lolitas and "fruitsy" people already! They're everywhere! I went to Closet child in Shinjuku.. my next update will have pics of that ^___^ I got alot of "Chou Kawaiii!" comments by schoolgirl or ladies already :D so fun! Gotta go now! Mata ne! xoxox
Maki ♥
» quick fun facts:
- an earthquake woke me up this morning
- there's no toilet paper in the subway's restrooms that's why there's people every corners in the streets handing out tissues
- there IS a legal age for love/sex relationships in Japan.. i needed to stop this urban legend!
- every person who enters a store is welcomed by every salesperson saying "irasshaimaseeeeeee" and sometimes you can hear it 15 times in less than a minute and some girls say it and you wonder if the word will ever end coz they're like "irasshaimaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...eeeeeeeeeee....eeeeeeeeeeeee...eeeee..eeee.. ." etc.. hehe..it's cute though
- japanese people don't really speak english. so learn the basics before comming here!
- YES japanese people SWEAT and YES they sell DEODORANT/ANTIPERSPIRANT. an other stupid urban legend!
